Derek Price analyzed an abundance of research and found that within a company, half of the work is done by the square root of the total number of people – Price’s Law.

With a small company of 25, it’s no big deal that 5 people are doing half the work – it’s expected.

But scale up to 10,000 people and it’s 1% doing 50% of the work.

By the time you reach Amazon, it’s entirely out of control.
